5-MeO-DiPT is a psychedelic entheogen belonging to the Tryptamine and 5-Methoxytryptamine families. 5-MeO- DiPT (also known as ‘Foxy’) has unique characteristics among Tryptamines, although shares the same mechanism of action mainly through 5HT-2A receptor agonism, potentially combined with MAOI activity (monoamine oxidase inhibition).
5-MeO-DiPT is a 5-Methoxy derivative of Diisaopropyl Tryptamine (DiPT) and so shares some properties (both have typical psychedelic effects without bring very visual). However, DiPT is reported to be primarily auditory, and 5-MeO-DiPT is reported to be more physical, stimulating and higher in potency.
5-MeO-DiPT Effects
Some of the most commonly reported effects of 5-MeO-DiPT are:
- Enhanced libido and sexual pleasure
- Stimulation
- Conceptual thinking
- Internal and communicative emotional enhancement
- Auditory distortions/ music appreciation
- Cognitive euphoria
- Enhanced physical sensation
- Mild visuals; colour enhancement, pattern recognition, closed eye visuals at higher measurements
Some potential side effects include:
- Headaches
- Nausea
- Stomach bloating
- Pupil dilation
- Thought loops
- Increased heartrate
Foxy or Moxy?
5-MeO-DiPT (Foxy) also shares characteristics with closely related psychedelic Tryptamine 5-MeO-MiPT (Moxy), however, the two are not to be confused for one another.
Aside from requiring different measurements for independent study, they also have some differences; 5-MeO-DiPT (Foxy) is reported to have a more pronounced arousing effect with higher levels of stimulation, whereas 5-MeO-MiPT (Moxy) is less overtly sexual, with more of a general physical sensory enhancement.
